Rules For A Perfect Day

Just for today...

I will try to live and delight in the reality of being
alive. My past is forever gone, my future an uncertainty, so
I will be happy and thankful for each moment.

I will not allow negative input into my mind... happiness is
a choice and I choose to be happy.

I will be thankful to God for my health, my loved ones, my
business, and my country. I will also be thankful for any
pain in crisis that helps me grow because God has said, be
thankful in all things.

I will treat everyone I meet today the way I would like to
be treated. I will strive to have them like themselves
better when they're with me.

I will avoid gossip, jealousy, and negative thinking. Most
people don't think about what they talk about. Today, I
will make a conscious effort to hold loving and beautiful
thoughts in my mind.

I will not take rejection personally. I am first and
foremost in the people business and, thus, realize they can
only reject my proposal and not me. I will keep on keepin'
on.

I will spend time in prayer, asking God to let others see
the light of His shining love through me.

...And most of all I WILL BE HAPPY!!

Pls Read To The End!!

A friend forwarded this story to me.
I simply loved it so I decided to share with you.
Enjoy!!

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
well needed to be covered up anyway;
just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and
help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried
horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he
quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
looked down the well. He was astonished at what
he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel
dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it
off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over the edge of the well and
happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds
of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well
is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out
of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

Live simply and appreciate what you have.

Give more.

Expect less. . . . .

Perseverance

One inch at a time. That is how I climb and that is how I live. Sure, the summit is my goal, but without each carefully calculated move, I could never make it to the top. Each small step and each giant reach presents a unique challenge. As I move up the cliff, I recognize characteristics of the rock and then adapt learned techniques to advance further toward the goal.

My father taught me perseverance by his example. I remember him going back to college when I was little. He worked all day, attended classes in the evening and then came home to study. I don’t know how he did it, but somehow the yard work got done and he kept the car maintained. I never have asked him how he managed, but he did. When I was just ten years old, my father received his degree. It took him many years, but he reached his goal and then moved on to other challenges.

As I reach the summit, I look back down and enjoy the moment. Then I gather my gear and start planning my next climb. One inch at a time.

Never give up, remember this: before the breakfast of champions there was the breakfast of failures.

What's The Key To Success?

Most of us are so intoxicated by our failures and fears that they cause us to be stuck in situations we absolutely hate. Yes, you read it right. We continue to stay in jobs we don't like because of our fears.
We continue to stay in abusive relationships that are literally sucking the life out of us because of our fears.Fears are the reason we never attempt to live
out our dreams.

Did you know that you and I do everything within our power
to avoid pain? Yep. All of us want to be happy and feel
good. And few of us are willing to be hurt, disappointed,
rejected, or turned down.

We are allergic to failure. Thus, we are afraid to step out
and take a risk. Here's what you might want to know: if you
are not failing right now, your chances of ever getting what
you want are slim to none.

You see, successful people are not successful because they
spend their entire lives avoiding fear or being hurt. As a
matter of fact, they are successful because they confront
it. They live on the edge and dare to do the things they are
afraid of. That's the key t success!!

So let this be your motto: If it's not going to kill me or
make me physically ill, Ill give it a try. We don't really
fail at anything. We simply fail to make it work.

Much success to you my friends!!!

How To Handle Criticism

There's no denying it: criticism can (and often does) hurt.
But no matter what you do in life, you expose yourself to
the possibility of being judged unfavorably.

Even if you try to remain in the background, avoiding all
confrontation, you still must make decisions -- minor ones,
maybe, like when to eat and what you wear. And, rest
assured, not everyone will agree with your choices.

So, since you are going to receive criticism no matter what,
let's take a closer look at how you can best handle (and
even benefit from) it!The next time you are criticized, consider the following
points:

- Accept that people have diverse backgrounds, preferences and
interests. You won't please everyone, so don't even try.

- Don't take it personally. Sure, this is easier said than
done. However, the critic generally isn't trying to prove
that you have no value as a person. Rather, they're
revealing their dislike of your idea or your performance.
Let them have their opinions. In the end, you decide whether
or not to let another person's remarks bother you.

- Strive to learn from their words. Find some truth in
their statements -- even if only a shred. There is usually
some accuracy in critical comments.
It's your job to seek out this kernel
of truth and benefit from it!

- Don't be defensive. Resist the temptation to argue with
the critic. While it's only natural to try to prove that you
are "right" and that the other person is "wrong," this
generally gets you nowhere.

But, most importantly, stay true to your own values and
convictions. If others don't approve, so what!

Master Your Fear

"Doubt and fear are the great enemies of knowledge, and he
who encourages them, who does not slay them, thwarts himself
at every step." -- As A Man Thinketh

I've heard it said that we're born with only a few fears -
like the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. All
other fears we learn along the way. Like the fear of
failure, the fear of rejection - even a fear of success.
I believe our greatest enemy in life is fear, because fear
keeps us from doing many of those things we would like to do
that would make our life more complete and more enjoyable.

Doubt is the first cousin of fear and precedes it.
If we dwell on a doubt and give in to it, it then grows into
fear. And if most of our fears and all of our doubts are learned along
the way, then we can "unlearn" them by becoming masters of
our thoughts. I've heard Zig Ziglar quote Mark Twain when he
said, "True courage is not the absence of fear, it's the
mastery of fear."

The people who live the life of their dreams have just as
many fears as those who live miserable, unfulfilled lives -
they just learned to master their fears instead of allowing
their fears to master them.

Brian Tracy has a great way to fight doubt. He says, "Don't
wonder whether something is possible - Over and over if you
have to, but ask how can you do it, not whether you can."

And I think that's worth thinking about!!

Be Quick To Complement

This is an ancient art fallen into disuse. A really good,
honest compliment shows that you appreciate the person you
admire. There is no shortage of critics. But there is a
dearth of people who say nice things when they genuinely
feel them.

People want and need to know how they're doing.

So be on the lookout for positive acts and attitudes worth
noting. You'll convince the other person that you care-and
you'll convince yourself as well.

Love Always.

Dealing With Tough Times

Yeah, wanna know how to deal with tough times, well come along

First, focus on what is working right in your life, at work, in
your marriage, within your own child. What is working right,
what are they doing well, what are their strengths. If you
can't find any, ask someone to point the strengths and good
things out. You may be too blocked to see them.

Second, take time to really appreciate what you do have. .
Do you appreciate all that you have? Sometimes we get so
busy looking ahead at where we are going that we forget
to look behind from where we came.

Third, help someone get what you want. For instance, if cash
flow is low then help someone's business make money by
referring business. Need a car, find someone who needs
transportation and help them. Help someone succeed.

How about this:

1. Recall a time when things were tough. Looking back did
your drama, silent treatment, pity party or anger help you
or the situation?

2. Recall a story that you read about or that someone shared
with you about a tough time they went through. Was it worse
than what you are going through now? Did they survive and
succeed? Will you?

3. Recall a time when you just knew you were alright even
though things didn't look that way. Know that you are
alright right now.

And know what, you sure are!!!

Bless YOU.

What Tough Times Require

Everyone experiences tough times, that is just how it goes.
How you react to those times can change how your how your
family reacts to the situation and how
you feel physically and emotionally.

Tough times can be described by an isolated issue (low cash
flow) or a combination of issues (child in trouble, parents'
ill, low cash flow, mergers at work). It is easy to fall
into the trap of going into automatic pilot and reacting as
you always have.

The silent treatment towards everyone, the drama queen/king,
the pity party whine fest, or perhaps the stoic martyr. None
of these behaviors helps to resolve the issues, in fact they
just make matters worse.

Each of the behaviors described above are driven by self
centeredness. It is all about me, you see! The truth is the
issues aren't about you at all. You and only you are making
it about you.

Too often people only focus on what is going wrong in their
world and not about what is working right. The merger isn't
about you...its just business. Your child's trouble isn't
about you... its about him and his choices.

Your parents' illness isn't about you... it's about their
health and the communication clash is only about you because
of your own behavior towards your spouse, you can't change
them, only yourself.

So what can you do about tough times?

Let's talk about this tommorrow.

Bringing Out The Champion In You In 2007

Its a new year and a new beginning, everybody says but how true it is really depends on you.
Maybe this is hard for you to believe because you aren't satisfied with the life you're living today. Well, your present circumstances don't determine your future. There are plenty examples to prove this.

Think of where these people started in life and how they've ended up: Bill Gates, Stevie Wonder, Helen Keller, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, Eckhart Tolle, Anthony Robbins, Steven Speilberg, Julia Roberts, Colonel Sanders, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., Ghandi (the obvious choices), most professional athletes, most professional musicians, the list is endless.

They all started out as babies with nothing but personal passion to fuel them on to creating wonderful lives. They all took different roads to climb their individual mountains of success, but they all got there by being focused and by taking action consistently. They all got there by reaching out and bringing out the champion in them.

An ancient Chinese proverb says, "If we don't change where we're going we'll probably end up there." Do you want to end up where you're headed right now?

Think about what it would look like for you to be a champion in your life. Take action in that direction, no matter how small, to start creating it today.

As simple as it sounds, just taking one small step in this direction can lead you to the life you really want. Every destination you've arrived at started with one step whether it was in the right or wrong direction.

If you ever look at your life and think, "How did I get here and how do I get out?" then this simple step may open the door to the path you're looking for.

Are you ready to take that step in 2007? Who knows this year can truly be that new beginning for you.

Making Time For Joy

Stop Putting Off Time For Joy In Your Life

As we speed through life, living on the edge at a faster and
faster pace, we need to stop and:

* review our values
* decide the direction of our lives and how we want to spend
our time, money and energy
* take care of ourselves and recharge our batteries. Hehehe!
* find time for peace and quiet
* make room for love in our lives

Have you put off time for relationships, hopes, dreams? Have
you put off time for fun, relaxation, joy?

If your life is moving at such a fast and hectic speed that
you're not enjoying it, then what are you hurrying toward?
What are you working to achieve? When will it get better?
When will you enjoy your life?

When you feel overwhelmed or so frazzled you can't find the
energy to do anything, that's when you need to make the time
to visit a friend, go fishing, meditate, take a
trip to the museum, go for a walk or even shopping!

Come on make time for yourself, cause you have only one life, don’t you ever forget that, so take care of it!

Naija To The Core

Check out this "ijebu" man.
A typical Nigerian if you ask me.

A young Yoruba man(Nigerian) walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan
officer. He tells the loan officer that he is going to Lagos on a vacation,
for two weeks, and needs to borrow $5,000. The bank officer tells him that
the bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the Yoruba man
hands over the keys to a new brand BMW 6 series. The car is parked on the
street in front of the bank. The Yoruba man produces the title and
everything checks out. The loan officer agrees to accept the car as
collateral for the loan. The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a
good laugh at the Yoruba man, for using an $80,000 BMW as collateral against
a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drives the BMW into the bank's
underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, the Yoruba man
returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41. The loan
officer says, "Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this
transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While
you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a successful
business man. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?"
The Yoruba man replies: "Where else in New York City can I park my car for
two weeks, and pay only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?"
The bank employees watch as he pulls out of the garage, windows down and sunroof
open. Juju music blasting from his car, as he pulled away. Yes OO!

Here Again

Guys, whao!! Its sure good to be here again, I missed you all sooooo much, I'm not really back, will be taking off again next week, hehehehe!

My cousin is also doing great, he is his usual self again;handsome and smiling. Thank God, I guess men have a way of hiding their pains but he really was great. I had wanted to put up a picture of her, she looked so serene and pretty on the obituary,{she was just 35} that I felt so bad I didnt really get to know her better but that's life. I guess we learn everyday.

I'm sooooo very grateful to each and everyone of you for your supportive words, I really, really appreciate everyone of them. thank you very much. I will try to come around to your blogs and try to catch up soonest. meanwhile I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

A Time To Say Goodbye

Hi Guys,
I won't be here for a while after today, I need a break, there's so much going on around me especially in my office, so I need to get away from all this, call me a coward if you want but I need to run, I just hope and pray that by the time I get back the "storm" will be over.

Anyway I need this leave, I'm really stressed out and I think I need to rest, so I'm getting away from civilization to my rural village where I'll breathe fresh unpolluted air for at least two weeks, its been ages since i went there, I kind of feel bad that i'm going there now on a sad note; my cousin's wife just died, its sooo sad, I remember when they were dating as if it was yesterday, I did not really like her, she was that kind of girl who hardly smiles (aw, you're not supposed to speak bad of the dead)but my cousin was like my hero and I used to wonder what he saw in her, he was the exact opposite, if you know what i mean, but he loved her, it was easy to see that.

They finally got married a few years back (i wasnt at the wedding) so it was a shock when my mum told me she has passed away during a surgical procedure, they don't even have a baby yet, I feel so bad not really for her( i'm sorry about that) but my cousin, I know he'll be hit badly(why do bad things keep happening to good people)I'm really in a state of shock, i've not even been able to call him, I just want to see him face to face to know how he's taking it.

Please Pray for him.

So I guess its time to say my goodbyes to her and my last repect too.
I hope she's happy wherever she is right now. Death is a mystery!!!!
