You Are Responsible

Something happened to a close friend of mine this week and I got to thinking about how responsible we are for actions we take, decisions we make, its funny but a small decision can actually turn ones whole life upside down. Josh Hinds mailed this story to me and I found it quite intriguing and decided to share.

Four brothers decided to have a party to celebrate a new business venture.
Since wine is rather expensive, they agreed
that each one would bring an equal quantity and
mix it together in a large serving bowl.

One of the brothers thought he might escape making his
contribution by bringing water instead of wine. "It won't be
noticed in the common bowl," he reasoned.

But when, at the party, the wine was poured out, it turned
out not to be wine at all, but plain water. All four
brothers had thought alike - cheap. Each one had thought,
"Let the other do it."

This is a lesson in responsibility,
You're going to have to be responsible for
your choices and decisions. Either that or turn your
life over to someone else who might not have your best
interest in mind."

- You have to be responsible for your finances.

- You have to be responsible for your health (mental &
physical)

- You have to be responsible for where you are in your
career

- You have to be responsible for the quality of people you
hang around

- You have to be responsible for all your choices - past,
present and future

If you're not happy with any area of your life, you are
responsible for fixing it. Step up - starting now!

Great post...most anger directed toward others simply are the projections of your own failures...many are the leaf being blown around by the will of the wind...and they, have a habit of complainig quite a bit...good post

These lines are really meaningful...coz today "self interest" seems to take precedence in most cases. We mite as well be prepared for this, before it hits us hard someday.

And if we don't take responsibility we end up turning wine into water. Unfortunately that's much easier to do than the other way around!

So very true and represents every aspect of our lives...each one of us is always looking at ways and means to shed our work and put it on someones else shoulder!

starry nites, thks, I agree with u, we make our destiny.

Margie, I liked that line too, and thats wht I try to do everyday.

Belle girl, me 2 am working on that 2.

Heidi dear, not to worry we all go thru stuff, theres a saying that helps me whn things go wrong in my life "it's always darkest before dawn" so when it seems very dark, I smile because I know that morning will soon come and it will be alrite. hang on there!!

Kuang I agree with u, I used to be like that before untill I learnt beta.

Kitchy, thks so much for stopping by, its good to have u there, ur rite u no, self interest is the order of the day now... but we can do something abt that no matter how small we can still make a difference.

Darius, easy way out isnt it? hehehe!

Keshigirl, thats rite we've got to take responsibility of our lives.

Anand, how true, I wonder why we do that.

Thks all of u for stopping by, I've not been a good blogger these past weeks, I've been awfully busy, not to worry anyway I'm still hanging in there. thks all of ya!!

I really agree with these points above. I am really really working on these and my health and spiritual life.

Very good post!

Yeah.
I agree.

I am happy that they all brought water and not gin.
Water is my own booze.

Personally I could interprete it as all of them having the same disposition to their responsibilities.

God bless.
